Introducing lipolife® Liposomal Glutathione, a highly bioavailable form of the body's master antioxidant supporting healthy ageing, immunity and detoxification.

Glutathione is present in virtually every single cell of the body with concentrations highest in the liver. The liver is constantly processing and removing toxins and needs glutathione to support these detoxification efforts.

This constant activity means the body’s glutathione levels are being continually challenged.

Product Details

Glutathione is a crucial antioxidant found in the liver, heart, and virtually every cell in the body, playing a fundamental role in cellular protection, detoxification and overall health. However, factors such as poor diet, environmental pollution, chronic stress and ageing can compromise the body's ability to produce and maintain adequate glutathione levels. Many conventional oral glutathione supplements are poorly absorbed due to enzymatic degradation in the digestive tract, limiting their effectiveness.

lipolife® Glutathione overcomes this challenge by delivering a highly bioavailable form of glutathione using advanced liposomal encapsulation technology. This method encapsulates the glutathione in protective phospholipids, ensuring it passes through the digestive system intact and is efficiently delivered into systemic circulation and directly to the cells where it is needed most.

lipolife® offers a high-potency, 100% vegan formula made with the purest ingredients, free from gluten, soy and GMOs. Manufactured to pharmaceutical-grade standards in the UK, it provides a convenient liquid format that makes daily supplementation simple and effective. Unlike many other products, lipolife® is developed using cutting-edge science and incorporates clinically researched ingredients such as Setria® glutathione.

In a randomised controlled trial published in the European Journal of Nutrition in 2014, Setria® glutathione supplementation demonstrated significant increases in glutathione levels showing a 30% rise in whole blood, a 35% increase in red blood cells and a 260% increase in buccal cells. These results highlight the remarkable potential of Setria® to support systemic glutathione stores.

The study also found that glutathione levels began to return to baseline approximately one month after supplementation ceased, indicating that consistent use is key to maintaining optimal levels. Importantly, Setria® glutathione was shown not to suppress the body's own production of glutathione, making it a safe long-term choice.

lipolife® harnesses all of these benefits while significantly enhancing absorption and efficacy through its state-of-the-art liposomal delivery system, making it the superior option for those seeking a reliable and powerful glutathione supplement.

lipolife® liposomal glutathione liquid

A quick journey round the body reveals just how crucial glutathione is to every cell.

Brain – As well as decreasing oxidative stress in the brain, glutathione has also been shown to improve mental clarity and memory, as well as helping prevent the formation of amyloid plaques.

Cellular detoxification – Glutathione is the cell’s primary defence against chemicals and toxins, working to eliminate these from our bodies.

Eye health – Glutathione content in the eye is high as it works to protect the eye from harmful UV rays. Other glutathione benefits in the eye include assisting in the prevention of cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease and diabetic blindness.

Fertility – At conception, the sperm and egg fuse due to the presence of glutathione. Research has indicated that increasing the levels of glutathione could improve fertility, particularly in males.

Immune system protection – The immune system works best if the lymphoid cells have properly balanced glutathione.

Lungs – The epithelial cells lining of the lungs utilise glutathione to protect against oxidative stress.

Ultra Pure Water

In liposomal supplement manufacturing, ultra-pure water is essential to ensure product stability, safety, and effectiveness. One of the key steps in achieving this high level of water purity is the use of deionised water (DI water).

Deionised water is created by removing the mineral ions (such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, chloride, sulfate and carbonate) that are commonly found in tap or distilled water. This is typically done using ion exchange resins, which attract and trap positively and negatively charged particles (ions). The process involves passing water through a mixed-bed resin or through sequential cation and anion exchange columns, which exchange undesirable ions for hydrogen (H⁺) and hydroxide (OH⁻) ions. These combine to form pure water (H₂O) as the by-product.

While deionisation removes charged particles, it does not eliminate organic contaminants, bacteria, or particulates.

For this reason, SAIFx® Technology used in lipolife® formulations takes it a step further to achieve ultra-pure water by integrating additional purification steps. The resulting ultra-pure water is chemically neutral and microbiologically clean, which is crucial for liposomal formulations. Any impurities, especially ions or microbes, could compromise the integrity of the phospholipid bilayers that form liposomes, affect shelf stability, or introduce contamination into the final product.

Phospholipids

Phospholipids, the core of all lipolife® products, are naturally occurring molecules that form the structural basis of cell membranes. They are essential in nutrient delivery due to their biocompatibility and ability to form liposomes, which can encapsulate active ingredients for targeted delivery.

lipolife® use phospholipids from Lipoid.

Lipoid GmbH is a leading global company specialising in the production of high-purity phospholipids for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutritional applications. Lipoid has established itself as a pioneer in developing liposomal and lipid-based drug delivery systems. These systems are critical for enhancing the efficacy and stability of active pharmaceutical ingredients, particularly in formulations such as liposomes, emulsions and lipid nanoparticles.

Setria® Reduced L-Glutathione

Setria® is a patented form of L-glutathione, produced through a proprietary fermentation process by Kyowa Hakko, a global leader in the development of pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. This glutathione is composed of the same three amino acids, cysteine, glycine and glutamine, that naturally occur in the human body.

Setria® is a highly pure, reduced form of glutathione, designed for maximum stability and absorption.

What is glutathione?

Glutathione is a tripeptide molecule composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. It is an important antioxidant in the body, playing a crucial role in maintaining cellular health. Glutathione is produced naturally in the body and is found in various fruits, vegetables and meats.

Present within every cell, glutathione is the body’s primary defence against free radicals. Unfortunately, the body’s need for glutathione is sometimes outpaced by its ability to produce it. Glutathione is at its lowest level in the morning and should be replenished daily through a healthy diet and supplementation.

What is the benefit of glutathione?

Glutathione is intrinsic in supporting the proper function of the immune system. It helps enhance the activity of immune cells, building an effective defence against infection and disease. If you were to go 24 hours without food, your liver would steal amino acids from the protein in your muscles to make this critical compound.

Glutathione is also critical in supporting the proper function of the immune system. It helps enhance the activity of immune cells, building an effective defence against infection and disease.

What is liposomal glutathione used for?

Glutathione status within the cells is a very good indicator of overall health.

Supplementing with liposomal glutathione ensures better bioavailability of a typically poorly absorbed nutrient. Known as the master antioxidant, glutathione is the body’s primary mechanism for neutralising free radicals.

Why does glutathione taste so bad?

Due to its chemical composition and the fact glutathione is comprised of a sulphur molecule, there can be a very distinctive smell and taste to glutathione.

In liposomal glutathione, the taste can be even more pronounced because the glutathione is in a free (active) form and not masked by fillers, capsules or tablets. The sulphur bitterness is hard to fully mask without compromising the stability of the formula, which is integral to the efficacy of lipolife® supplements.

Many customers tolerate the taste for the therapeutic benefits, opting to mix their dose into a small amount of juice or water to make it more palatable. Or they change to our liposomal glutathione capsules.

Despite the taste, glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that supports detoxification, liver function, immune health and cellular repair.
In short: it tastes bad because it works.
